Various Sculpts, Tests and stuff. Latest: Anatomy

Here’s the basemesh for the superhero sculpt. Very basic topology but it still has egloops to give higher mesh density in the right places:http://uploader.polorix.net//files/84/Hero_Basemesh.blend

Edit: Updated the blend file to use my standard sculpting layout and fix a few quirks (I had retopo switched on in edit mode which would might have been confusing).

That you Ben!

Another animation test. This time playing with modifiers and lots of lattices. Plus I managed a rather cool graphic equaliser effect. Click the image for a Vimeo link!

Really nice thread, subscribing to it.

A model of my family crest that I am hopefully getting printed in 3D as a birthday present for my father, unfortunately shapeways is currently saying it’s a non-manifold mesh even thought I’ve checked and double checked it, and I know it isn’t. Sigh. Does anyone know of a good program for performing nice clean boolean operations so I could try lumping it all into one mesh to find out if that’s the problem? Or alternately another company besides shapeways that might be able to print it (assuming the error really isn’t my fault)?

Managed to get it ordered from shapeways eventually, I’ll post some photo’s of the finished article when it arrives!

Random quick head, sculpted from a cube.

And a flame test I also posted in this thread.

OMG!! these are amazing! every single one of them! i love the anormorphic kitty and the joker the most, but all of it is awesome! more plz!

Just a random head, still messing around with ideas for a BWC entry, but figured I’d at least need a couple of characters.

good work man .

The last skin shader is great. Did you sculpt the creases?

Large Creases are modelled, all the fine detail is normal mapped though. Here’s a wire.

  1. A video test of a graphic equaliser effect I’ve been working on for a tutorial. Nothing special yet, in fact you will have seen similar already in the cube video I posted. I’m just working on simplifying and tweaking it. Click for vimeo link:

  2. A character I’ve been working on, possibly as part of a BWC entry, possibly just for the sake of it. Based on this design.

Updated the graphic equaliser test from the post above, happy with it now and will record the tutorial soon.

Some messing around with BGE. Trolley has movable wheels etc. Just trying to get my head around it at the moment. Blendfiles (it’s a few files due to linked libraries etc. hopefully nothing is missing) available here:
http://uploader.polorix.net//files/84/TrolleyScene.zip

Can anyone tell me why when I make an instance of the trolley group, it doesn’t behave as expected? It just falls apart. It seems the rigid body constraints are not being carried over for some reason.

A random head. Used a photo for inspiration/reference, but apart from that it was done as an excercise at head modelling without ortho refs to go from. Took longer but it was good fun, and it has a lot of character as a result. No sculpting done so far, but I will get to it as I want to develop this one a bit further yet.

Edit: There’s athread for this one now.

And a bit of an update before I turn in for the night.

A bit of technical modelling. A child’s bike.

http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9246/childsbike.jpg

And a render. Damn. Im 22 years old and I still want this thing.

http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/75/childsbike2.jpg

Also I did a test render in both 2.49 and 2.5 to see what the peformance and … Holy wow!

Rendertime in 2.49 - 17 mins
Rendertime in 2.5 - 29 seconds!

I know the tyres need attention.

the bike is cool!!
dude, what you got here is some insane skills!
two thumbs up and 5*! :stuck_out_tongue:
