UV mapping tiling texture evenly

I am pretty much beginner with Blender and I do most of my modeling with Sketchup. Anyway, I would like to use blender to add displacement map to models that will be 3D printed.

Is there some easy way to stretch UV map evenly to the UV texture space? I have a seamless texture that I would like to use as a displacement texture but with the discplacement there will be visble seam in the model. This is because the UV map is not mapped “evenly”, see attached images.

Is there some easy way to strech the UV map evenly to the space?

First, set the UV to Constrain To image bounds…What you want to do is get UV map to the seamless texture ( load it in the UV window) and make sure it fits the WHOLE UV space.

Now depending on the direction ( should be X axis) you want to scale X, and move the UV in by approximately 1 pixel so that it doesn’t touch the UV Space Border…
Here you are looking directly at the seam for this cylinder…

Your seam should be on the Right and Left of the UV space…
