Using Nodes to Make a Material Partially Transparent

for save as see
http://www.blender.org/manual/data_system/files/save.html?highlight=save

you can see the compress feature on the bottom left

happy bl

So are you talking about the image file or the actual .blend file?

Wow, we’re on 2 pages already 0_o…

the blend file if not too big 5 MB
pack image in blender file and save as compress

then it should be small to upload it

can you do it in next 1/2 hour
after that i’m gone take a break !

happy bl

The entire blend file? Mmkay…

it is the only way to test it
what size is it ?

happy bl

Sorry, give me a moment… Computers a bit slow… Ill have it up for you in about 10-15 minutes… :spin:

Is there any way I can give it to you privately? :o

Oh, and uh… The file is 270 MB… 0_0

too big

can you make a copy and remove things
make it like 5 MB max somehow

just need example for your image problem

happy cl

Yeeaaahhh that’s not possible for me. There’s too many images and materials for everything. But its not the end for this. I figured everything out (surprising, yes), I just need to make this node be 100% transparent.
See what I mean:

NEVERMIND!! I changed it so it would be ‘pure white’, I’m rendering it, and I’m gonna see how it looks. Thanks! I’ll respond again soon,.

the transp thing for color does not work in cycles!

or make another file with simple object using a modified image smaller
and see if it works if not upload it

will check in 1 hour

happy cl

In the Image Texture node you have Linear (under Color) selected. That will blur your textures. To give them the pixelated look, select Closest in the second drop-down.

Thats not what the wiki said… I’ll try rendering it now…

did you do a small file with image texture?

upload it then will see what is wrong

happy cl

Hi

I’ve probably misunderstood the question…But here are 1 way to set a transparent texture.

Transparent go to first shader in the mix shader.

And Alpha from texture go to fac in mix shader.

To see it in viewport…change Opaque in settings Box to Alpha clip.

Thanks I Got it!
