Hi there - I’m wondering if it’s not the lighting model making it look too flat. A cylinder should have really nice core shadows and bounce light from underneath, and they aren’t showing here. do you have environment lighting turned on? (I’m guessing probably so since the background is the default gray). Might try turning it way down or off altogether. Then a studio light setup with key light and fill light instead.
Anyway, kudos for the work you’ve done so far - looks pretty cool!
Just a quick test for the keyframe animation. This model, once textures will be used in “The Remnant”. Still need to sort out the smooth shading on it.
hey guys so its been a while since i posted anything on the whole site. bought a new computer today which is a hell of a lot faster than my old laptop. getting used to the new stuff though and I need to transfer my assets for the game im working on. in the mean time, i’ve just been playing around creating some more components and seeing them render in next to no time.
hi guys, another test using the walk navigation in Blender. Materials are nearly finished as well so it’s coming along good. Poly count is pretty high as ive got a bevel on the handrail which can be turned off.
If you still have problems with smooth shading try the edge split modifier. Can’t tell if you still are but the under side of the stair makes me think so.
