Right here is where I am so far. Still practicing my texturing skills. The scene is meant to be like a roadblock. Two dividers with bollards that can come out of the ground. (That is why there is a small circular hole at the base of the bollard).
I think my biggest let down is the pavement. I just dunno.
Any tips and of course C&C please. Please be gentle :ba:
Impressive! The only thing that really throws me off about it is the gray lines running down the front of all the barriers… It kinda makes it look repeated. That and the different colored bricks on either side of the road… not sure if that’s realistic or not…
Thanks for the comment Boss. Decided to remove the bricks. It was all just one texture that was displaced with the heightmap etc. Think it might have been the light catching it.
Hi Boss… thanks for the tip… was looking at images aswell, can’t believe I missed it lol. Yes they all are cycles based. I started off learning Cycles.
Just under 10k of verts. Take away the pipes and it decreases significantly. Not finished with the textures but slapping stuff together to see what works.
This is just a little play around. The wooden frame texture needs placed better but I’m happy with the materials used… took inspiration from shelters and “bandstands” around my area.
Decided to go back to the pipe kit and refine it. Started from scratch and I now have this. Comes complete with Straight/T/X and Corner sections. Might add another Straight section with a turnwheel attached…
First texture to be used is an image mapped blue rust. Looking to add more textures to it, procedurally and image based.
Low Poly - Around 800 verts for all pieces combined.
What i’ve done here is just add them all together in Blender to show what it can do. I am confident that it can be snapped together to create complex piping and still “loop” back to the first piece.
I have noticed that the UV map on the X piece was not correctly mapped and giving the weird look. I had cube projected it… This has no bee corrected.
Here’s an update on the textures. Noticed on slight issue on one of the wood parts ( the UV are rotated wrong by 90 degrees). If you click the picture and then click the zoom on photobucket you can find original at about 9600x5400…
