The new Cycles GPU 2.72 Benchmark

GTX 980 should be as fast as 780Ti. Is Maxvell not yet supported?

Windows 8
GTX 690

Windows 8.1 x64
EVGA GTX 590 (multigpu mode: disabled)
07:52.13

This is a dual gpu card, so I’m not sure how you want to list it. I was using both GPUs. It’s nice to see my card still performs well.

Hi all, OscarM compiled Blender 2.72 with the kernel for GTX 970/80, link here > http://www.blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?351375-when-would-we-see-official-support-for-maxwell-900&p=2742820&viewfull=1#post2742820
It is interesting if a native sm_52 kernel render faster than a renamed sm_50 kernel.
It would be nice if some GTX 970/80 user try the build or use only the kernel and copy it to your 2.72.
Location is: 2.72/scripts/addons/cycles/lib

OS: Slackware 14
CPU: Q6600 - 4 core 2.6 ghz (7+ year old CPU)
RAM: 8 GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 760GT - 2 GB Vram
Bench: 14.20

Thanks all for new input, here is my output:

08:29:79 on an EVGA 970 SC with W8.1 x64

While driving a second monitor playing videos… I’m sure it could cut out 10s or more without the video playing

Windows 7 x64
Palit 650 Ti Boost
20:16

03:08.75
780Ti SC + 660Ti SC + 660Ti
Win 7 x64

I get some variability. On four runs my times were 03:00, 03:16, 03:19 and 03:00 running all three cards. My big iron (the 780Ti) is usually idle for the last 15 seconds or so with this tile setting.

12:34.53 on 580 GTX with windows7 x64

and why only 4 tiles? It will be really bad for multigpu setups with 3 gpus… Aint 256x256 optimal anyway?

Tried with 240 x 270 px tiles and got 11:48.39, 580gtx win7 which is some 7% faster than with preset settings.

I wish I could take part in this benchmark but it seems my new Quadro K2200 is not supported. :frowning:
Will it ever be?

Hi jjjuho, not much user have 3 cards, some have 2 but most have 1 card.
see360 was the first one in this thread.
@see360, it would be nice if you render with one GTX 660Ti again, we don´t have this card tested by now.

Cheers, mib

mib,

You might have missed my previous post on the Nvidia GTX780. Here are my times with stock speeds and with overclocking.

Win 8.1 64 bit
ASUS GTX 780 3GB @ stocks speeds
06:56.84

Win 8.1 64 bit
ASUS GTX 780 3GB OC(core @ 1200, memory @ 6800)
05:39.73

Looks like is still faster than GTX 980/970.

11:48.33 660Ti SC (993 MHz)
11:58.63 660Ti (915 MHz)

05:09.32 780Ti SC (980 Mhz)

Win 7 SP1
intel i7 3820 @ 3.8 GHz

The Super Clocked version usually renders a scene in about 6% less time, but for some reason they were nearly identical here.

2x GTX 970’s OC @1465 MHz

04:32:69

04:04:74 with 256x Tiles

Win 10 TP - i5 4440

I would test with my 980 but I can’t get Blender to recognize it. In fact neither one of my cards(460 and 980) are detected with the 343.22 driver. :frowning:

Hi Grimm, 2.72 does not support GTX 980/70, you can try a build from OscarM > http://www.blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?351375-when-would-we-see-official-support-for-maxwell-900&p=2742820&viewfull=1#post2742820

or a daily build from https://builder.blender.org/download/

@eklein, your render results are added in next spreadsheet.

Cheers, mib

Win 7 SP1 64bit
GTX 750TI
21:08.17

Kubuntu 14.04 64bit
GTX 750TI
24:12.04

CPU is a Pentium E6300 :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks mib, but still does not work, I tried both. :frowning: I think the drivers are not installed correctly. I’m about ready to drop Linux Mint and go back to Fedora.
