I also think the anti-commercialism attitude is partly based on a faulty assumption, which is that the content being sold would have been given away for free if there wasn’t a convenient way to charge for it. That is not necessarily the case.

The only time we “no money” users lose out is when someone would have made something for free anyway, but then decide to charge for it because “why not”? I don’t have a problem with that because I don’t begrudge anyone’s right to make a few bucks if they put in a good effort.

I think a lot of people will still contribute things for free, but in the marginal case, I think people will work harder, to make their offering better, so it’s actually worth charging money for.

I have yet to meet a developer that hasn’t already planned whether they wanted to charge for their tool from the very start. From what I have observed, developers very early on decide whether the work they put into their tool is worth charging for or not.

Of course the exception being that the tool was harder to develop for than previously thought, so more time was put into it. But this is something I have not seen yet.

But I do agree with you post Kemmler, and let’s hope that more users see the truth behind commercial add-ons/assets.

Hi kberes,

looks like a very helpful product.

Any chance of being able to purchase smaller packages…e.g. 5 for $10, 10 for $15, etc, with the best deal still $50 for 50?

I don’t need 50 preset lighting setups, but would be willing to pay $10 for 5.

How ironic, a first class application for free, and people complain about the cost of add ons that arent critical and cheap in the first place, then probably expect to be paid for there own work.

@megacal I have been looking into a more affordable version of the pack, but have not settled down on anything yet. Will update though as soon as I get it figured out.
