Could you try rendering the same thing with branched path-tracing and correlated multi-jitter?
I’m not sure it will help, but i’d like to know if it works
If only the background could be much darker and if only you could have more detail in the scene, this has the beginning of what could become a trippy image.
Now to see the improved portal rendering get into master (which is supposed to be able to make use of a background with MIS enabled).
