ssimpossible, i don’t know for sure, but I think a good way to make the leaves move similarly to the animation would be to animate animate a lattice modifying a leaf. The animation can be exported as a mdd and re-imported so it can be copied multiple times. The timing can be modified in the NLA so that the leaves seem to be moving more randomly. Here is an example used on a book page but the method can be used to animate the leaves seen in this video.
