My intention is to render animations on GPU and CPU parallel on two blender instances. It is working but I expected more(mean less render time). Made some tests and checked, when I render on GPU only, CPU usage is quite high although the render process is running on the GPU. See attachment…
Why need GPU rendering so much CPU power? Is there a way to lower CPU usage while rendering on the GPU?
Could be nice to save some CPU power for rendering to theoretically speed up the whole render process for animations.
I have Intel I5 4670K and Nvidia gtx 660 and using Blender on Linux Mint 17.
