BlueVsRed

Great to see your work again.

This deserves the gallery in my opinion.

Could you tell how you get the bluish haze? I have seen it in a lot of your renders and it really adds to the realism.

Could I see the wire of the planet/ground?

This is awesome!!

Thanks for the comments

Don’t worry, the spaceship is 2years or so old. The image without the spaceship took 5days.

In this image, it’s just a simple blue gradient added on top of everything.

The wire of the moon, is just a bunch of squares subdivided 8 times+displacement.

Would I be right if I said that this is awesome? I think I would.

BTW, those larger mechs on the ground (particularly the one on the right) remind me of machines from Supreme Commander (most tactically complex game I have ever played)

See the resembelance?

Excellent!!! 5 star… x5!!
Please…a tutorial…also small…

very detailled, love it. Could you do another render in 1920x1080 (Full HD)?

Good job, man! How did you do the spaceship’s afterburners–with the compositor?

Wow looks astonishing!
You’ve clearly been influenced by different games out there. Mecha dose resemble the spider robot from Supreme Commander.
The ship resembles the “Inquisitor” from EVE Online. Not to much though.

Very cool. For some reason reminds me of something out ofFreelancer.

hi Zordan, this image is really, really, really good, especially for Blender! is it all internal, or did you do some post work in Photoshop / GIMP? Also, would you mind explaining to me how you are creating the stars and galaxy texture in the background? i believe you said they were all procedural…however the galaxy / nebula clouds look like they were made with volumetrics. please feel free to PM me if you’d rather. thank you!!

Here is the node setup:

It’s a bit complicated, but I can explain it piece by piece. So bare with me, when I don’t post the whole explanation at once. When you got questions at any point, just ask

hi Zordan. wow, that’s quite the node setup! would you like me to wait as you explain, or should i begin asking questions?

no rules, just ask away

i don’t even know where to start to be honest. i’m assuming you’re using material nodes from the node setup. are all the cloud textures rendered in Blender to a plane or some other object first? are you then saving them and importing them back in as images?

The nodes that you see are part of a node-texture, which is mapped onto a shadeless plane. Nothing is baked, everything happens in blender.
I’ll split the setup into different sections, which I then post and explain here. For starters I used this reference and here is the raw background to compare

As you can see it needs much more work to get close to the same quality.

Simply Amazing.

It’s one of the most impressive sci-fi renders that’ve seen. Cool job!
*5 for me.

Looks pretty high quality to me already! so could you walk through the node setup bit by bit, as much or as little as you like? i understand if you do not wish to divulge all of your secrets. :eyebrowlift:
