so, about the opensubdiv feature. I cant make it work. I dont know if it belongs here but I didn´t find a better thread. I just downloaded the last 7.76 rc2 for win64 and in the preferences, in the opensubdiv compute option just appears “none”. I have an gt 720m card and since I upgraded to win 10, I couldn’t update the drivers, but the card works ok to rendering.

The card/drivers must support some OpenGL features in order to be able to use OpenSubdiv:
https://developer.blender.org/T45717

ok, I’ve updated the drivers for my graphics card and still doesn’t work. I guess it doesnt work with my geforce 720m, sad, I’ve just bought my laptop. Im really out of my element in this subject, I dont know if there is some workaround

Probably your card has optimus technology, and I’m not sure if the intel driver supports OpenSubdiv in Windows 10. I do not know how this notebooks are configured in order to set nvidia as primary display.
Register nvidia dev forum:
https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/board/69/opengl/
ask there if your nvidia card supports the OpenGL features mentioned in the previous link of the bug report.

Turkheim, may this helps: http://acer–uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9073/~/assigning-a-graphics-card-to-an-application-with-nvidia-optimus
@YAFU, it does at least with my i5 and HD 4400.

Cheers, mib

Ok mib2berlin. So, is it recommended that Turkheim also install the latest intel graphic drivers for Windows 10?
I really do not know how Optimus works.

Hi YAFU, tested again with 2.76 RC2 and it does not work!
Had a older buildbot on disk and there it work!!!
I have only HD 4400 and not a second card like Turkheim.
Will ask BF devs if I should report as bug, hrm.

CHeers, mib

On the Dell Precision the Optimus can be turned off in the BIOs. I’ve had to turn it off for other programs.

@RickyBlender
Try Google, but here is link:

Hi, just for info about Opensubdiv, Intel GPU are disabled in 2.76, GLSL is disabled for AMD cards.

Cheers, mib

thanks for video tut in #30

Has anyone else trouble with importing key configurations in 2.76 RC2?

I go to Blender Preferences -> Input -> Import Key Configuration and load my configuration .py file but nothing happens. No shortcuts are loaded. The dropdown menu displays the name of the configuration file but the shorcuts are still the standard Blender shortcuts.

AAAHH!.. I’m an idiot. I´ve just change to use high performance nvidia processor in the run with graphics processor option of the icon right click menu. seems to work

I’m new to Blender and from a 3ds Max background
I can’t seem to work out the measurement system for
a 3d print model I’m working on. It says the size is in metres but if you
export it to just about any other program for 3d printing and it shows up
as I want it to in mm. Is this a bug in Blender 2.76?
I only want this 3d print to be 150mm not meters yet Blender is reporting
it at metres.

2.76
Edge Offset = Edge Split ?

work in this way or is a bug ?

any help is welcome
