ARARES - 3D Strategy Game

Very cool. I remember trying to create an RTS game a few years ago. Problem was that I just started using Python back then. XD So it kind of went nowhere.

As Anicator commented, the game remembers even some RTS a few years ago. In particular Warcraft I and II and also Off Age empires.:eyebrowlift:

is certainly one of the games that will play when ready.:smiley:

Real Time Animated Grass


Maybe you could upload an animation of the grass. Did you use shaders, or a bunch of planes with alpha, or what? I’m intrigued.

If it’s done using a bunch of alpha mapped planes then I suggest you don’t use it as your main asset for displaying grass vegetation.
Having more triangles is a lot cheaper than having tons of alpha mapped planes.

That grass looks really pretty too, man I hope it’s a shader.

yes. used glsl shader.

3600 animated workers with randomised colors.

Very nice ! How many polygons and bones per worker ?
I assume you have quite a good computer to run this :slight_smile:
Are you using physics (just dynamics with sphere collisions) ? From my tests the framerate is much lower with physics, but it was in older versions of blender so I don’t know now.
