Looks really close to photo realism. I miss the toonish affect though. But your model skills looks great:yes:
These are old but I never shared them before. This was further experimentation with anime styled hair I did in blender cycles.
^ this hair was done with the method of polygon strips and a texture. I then used paths to control the curl.
^ These were done using Particle hairs.
While they are both a pain to deal with, the poly hair renders much faster as one might expect…
