Kupoman and I have gotten what we’ve wanted out of the project and are working on our next project. However, there is a good amount of stuff started here, and would be great for someone to toy with. There is a link for the svn in that post, so someone can download the source and toy around with it. If someone actually takes on the project, I can make them a branch.
One thing is, this project is pretty messy in some parts and would need cleaning. It was our first bigger project, and we used to learn and make mistakes with, so be prepared for some cleaning
You would be correct.
I was planning on learning more and then coming back to it. but college is getting in the way of that… I would like to still be on the team so I can contribute some, but if this doesn’t get adopted then I’m not working on it.
I would also like to submit my first game ever: Text Man
And my game Plastic FPS. It worked with 2.48a, but not with 2.49. And I’m not planning on converting it.
The first one was a ‘Me and my Airship’ inspired game called ‘Imperial’. The focus of the game was to introduce an ‘American’ style economy system of trading and item collecting. You would travel from town to town solving puzzles and eventually traveling to other islands. The premise was very complex and ambitious for me, so I had to drop the project because of lack of interest.
You could buy and sell items–the only problem was the form of rewards you would get from trading. hmmm, I guess that’s something I’ll let the next person solve. oh, and btw, I don’t have any of the remaining models unfortunately. Whoever takes the project will have to use these as reference images.
This next one was a platformer about a rabbit’s forrest being taken over by ‘aliens’… Actually, to be completely honest, blackhawk009 and I were working on this project until blackhawk009 walked out and I recruited Andrew 101. I was kindof lost direction-wise because the game was all blackhawk’s. I look back now and am suprised Andrew wasn’t angry. For that I am grateful. But for the project? Well, let’s just say that it never took off and the concept was lost in a sea of illegible papers. So, here are some images.
When I was designing the levels, I wanted to have lots of physics involved (rope bridges, etc. etc.). I also wanted to have lots in the way of movement. In short, I was aiming for a very involved level. And honestly, I would’ve been suprised at the time if I had finished 1 level. For that, I’m leaving this project at the doorstep.
Plot
Velt and Lori are very adventurous “brats”… they once again disobeyed their Clan rules and their parents advices and got into the Forbidden Hari Waterfall (again…). As always, Lori was near a little garden between the forest and the river, searching for Witchcraft Butterflies (explained below). Velt, was lying down on the grass playing nervously with a bush leaf on his mouth, daydreaming of a life of brave and dangerous adventures. Suddenly, he hear his sister scream and promptly wake up to just see Lori been carried away by strange little spherical creatures with strange Armour and glowing orbs in place of it’s bellies. Velt promptly start to run to save his sister, to be abruptly stopped by a terrifying creature like the ones that got his sister, but that one is more tall, larger and resembles a lion. The creature get it’s spear with a big blade. Velt grab his Scimitar…
Work done so far Some meshes have textures, most doesn’t, the butterfly have texture and animation. The audio tracks are from freesound.org
It seems we’re all just dumping our games here, but no one is actually claiming one! So I’ll start off and claim this one from curlystraw in hope that others will follow.

Someone has adopted my game over PM, just as a note. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost the files for both games. :o
Umm… The original point of using different characters was to avoid copyright issues, but if you use copyrighted characters such as Mario then the game may get taken off of these forums.
Yes, but Nintendo has not been known to be very kind about fan games, and this section still applies:
Though we now allow the posting of fan games, the copyright owner has the last word. If they ask us to remove your project, we will.
Why use copyrighted characters when they don’t add anything to the game? I just think the game would be more fun if it had blender related characters :).
And here is the download link containing all the work I put into it. I’d like to be credited with some early work if the adopter doesn’t mind and I’d really like to be emailed or whatever if a finished game comes out of this (I wants to play it!)
Nope.
Go crazy!
I did notice that if you use the original file, then you need to delete the bone that the collision box is parented to. (I didn’t have any idea how to do crouching at the time. ;))
