What do I major in in college to be a 3D Animator?

I’m a developer primarily, so I can speak to this. Forget C#. Being locked into the Microsoft world is a huge mistake, professionally and as a hobbyist. You want to learn C++. Those skills will translate very well to Java and any C-based web technology. If this means learning Unreal Engine 4 instead of Unity, so be it. Most of your good engines are going to use some form of a C-based language.

Or you could not go to college and just practice very hard every day. I can’t say how successful this is in the 3D industry, but this is what I did when I first started in the web design industry, and I now make nearly six figures. I did go to college, but it was for English Literature, so it was practically worthless to my overall success.

Luckily, these type of industries are all about capability, and little about education or training. If you can do the job well, and can demonstrate it to an employer, you’ll get the job.
