Tekneek's sketchbook and Stuff

Hey Tekneek,

cool stuff going on here. I’ll keep an eye on your SB.

Nice stuff! The force field tests are cool as is the ice shader. Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys

I’ve been fiddling around trying to do a proper glass shader, since the one out of the box is imho a bit bland.

It’s essentially the same dispertion thingy I used earlier with an added colory rainbowy thingy on top some other user did.

No disrespect to the original creator, I just say this image linked and don’t know who made it originally.

But, my glass is getting glassy.

Cool space shippy thingy!

Thank you, but I accidentally a jumpgate.

Background pending.

Yet more glass shadery.

Now added fake caustics.

(dispersion, fake volumetric, and fake caustics).

Test with my Glass shader.

Fake Volumetric, dispersion and fake Caustics. 250 samples at 1920 x 1080.

nice book

I love that glass shader. How do you do the fake caustics?

I neglected to check back here and sorry about that.

But thanks guys

Jake, It’s a shoddy glass shader I mixed out from several other hacks around the web.

Far from perfect but nice enough, imho.

But I’ve attached it in my post.

Also, I had some fun with one of my models and Cycles to do a rendered background.

CausticTest.blend (724 KB)

IBL and DOF test.

I made a default clay scene, which I can just pop a sculpt in and hit render and out comes awesomeness.

Decided to use my Fishyman model for the testing and wanted to share the results.

That’s rather impressive. Nice mix of hard surface / organic modelling. Sculpted in Blender?

Thanks McFly

No, sculpted this guy in ZBrush, and rendered out a decimated mesh with Cycles.

I find it to be the perfect blend of awesomeness, the fluidity of ZBrush combined with the fluidity of Blender

Incidentally, I crystallized my Susan for funsies.

Crystal Suzanne part 2

Now with an awesome Glass Shader… fake volumetrics, dispersion and caustics to the max.

And because I am that kind of a guy, I’m giving takers my constructed shader.

Glass_Awesome.blend (1.25 MB)

Updated Fake Glossy and glass, now with fake reflective caustics.

500 samples, Caustics off. All within the shader.

Lovely shaderwork mate and the fishman sculpt is awesome!
