If it has any advantage, I don’t know. I just did in order to use user settings.
The problem of detecting event.value ‘RELEASE’ after rotate the view, has not been solved. But I could get around by comparing all the time view_matrix. (a solution might be to make a modal in parallel but i don’t think worth).
I will change the name of this thread of “How to detect event.value ‘RELEASE’ when using navigation operators in 3d_View” to “How do to indicate that the operator “rotate.view” completed its action” and so mark as [SOLVED].
