EcoRobot - first GPU renders

Oh i just noticed that they are resized :open_mouth: Well, the original dimensions were 1600x1200 and 1024x1024 in last image.

I’ve decided to make a short video tutorial about rendering and material tweaking of my robot scene  Hope You enjoy it!

Awesome! Thanks. That looks really interesting. I am looking forward to the OSX-Version of Octane.

Congrats, your work is this week’s art submission on BN

Really good work, lechu, well done.

Cool renders!

I wish video tutorial shows more Blender/Octane date transfer aspects. Do materials, meshes, smooth groups import flawlessly?

Cute! amazing, keeping my late released…2.50 is a snail in performance.some are even dumping and bashing it over stable released.when is the next beta in five month? again your work is inspiring.

melon2005: I link a thread in Octane forum, where I’d described my export settings:

Well I was limited by time doing this tutorial, I was focused rather on presenting Octane capabilities, than step by step “making of”. It’s still an alpha version however it does pretty well with importing blender materials (Octane “recognizes” blender specular/diffuse/glossy materials), so future looks promissing

rpgsimmaster: It’s a pleasure to have my renders subbmited on BN  Thank you.

Added to the gallery.

I really like this job that if I agree with that octane only work with nvidia!

amazing work

Yeah. Nice work

Very cool, love it

Nice stuff very good!

How difficult would it be to port this to cycles? Would be interesting to compare…
(Still love the model, btw  )

yes, please do a render comparison!

that is amazing!

Here’s something even more amazing:

post # 6 by christrapeze. Granted this does not compare Octane
and Cycles, which makes it irrelevant for a blender WIP forum.
But then this thread should have been started in the “other software”
forum to begin with, shouldn’t it?

Anyway - Wow. The Octane version looks grainy and flatly lit, and
the Thea Render one did not even use any gpu rendering
at all, since that feature is still in the works. If this render
test has any validity at all, that is.

Even to my uneducated eye, the Octane version looks
like shit-ake, for the same amount of time that is.

How about a render test comparing Octane to other
non-gpu renderers? That would be even more interesting.

Truly amazing. Cool DoF effect there.

very nice job.
and octane looks so promissing

It’s very nice!
