Gumboots: well, i wanted to do something different from the “usual” clothing, my entry may be borderline with the theme :slight_smile:

the fibres have a real depth and gloss to them

I’m not expert with CF… i used some bump map and anisotropic to fake the fibres more o less as references. Was better (more “realistic”) to use real displacement+simple glossy to simulate the minute fibres, or are there even better methods?

Fair enough. It’s certainly an interesting fabric. I’m wondering how they got that look. It’s probably not pure CF. Can’t see how it possibly could be, but I don’t know what the “copper” strands are. Pigmented aramid is one likely candidate.

Unfortunately my Blender skills are still at beginner level, so I can’t suggest much in the way of settings for realistic CF, but I have an idea some translucency would help.
