Blender Artists New feature: Sketchfab.com integrated

i love this model! such simplicity yet appealing.

Congrats, it’s a great step forward
However, I just thought for a few seconds you were using the Unity3d player for this… the logo they use is a bit similar.

ok final test with this. I tried using the exporter add on but it gave me an error

I tried isolating each object and making it Internal Engine capable since I thought it had something to do with cycles. However this small setback isnt too bad.

Holy crap… this is cool!

I can’t believe it’s this simple.

not bad after I reupload and experiment with material editor with my texture…but I could not find UV on material editor. is it for pro only? I exported wood floor texture but it looks not like that I expected… I also try to give the floor to reflective and shine but seem not…obviously, i missed something through sketchfab even I exported lamp.

wow great this is amazing!

The feature does not actually work on my system. The Sketchfab box shows up and I click on it. I see progress spin around till it reaches 100%. Then it just stays at 100% spinning and never displays a model.

I am running Windows 7 x64. ? Using Firefox 9.01.

Thanks Wes and the BA team for putting this together with us, looks very promising!

@All: just wanted to precise we take native blender files, you can upload them manually on http://sketchfab.com, or directly from Blender with our dedicated exporter: http://blog.sketchfab.com/post/45409801722/blender-exporter

@ Ace Dragon: We support different light types and we use the light of your scene with some limit, no area light for example. Shadows are coming soon. We also plan to support cycle materials in the futur.

@J.F.Robot: have you tried this model on your iphone? https://sketchfab.com/embed/dGUrytaktlDeNudCEGKk31oTJY

@JA12: useful stats on http://webglstats.com/ too.

@kettlefish: We don’t really have a polycount limit, it all depends on your browser capacity, the device you are using, and the structure of the model. We have models with more than 5M polygons, and a live polycounter  https://sketchfab.com/counter

@masterxeon1001: We’ll check the exporter. There is also a dedicated BA thread for our Blender exporter: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?257589

@mycatnameistux: UVs are not fro Pros only, here is a demo: http://blog.sketchfab.com/multiple-uv-channel

@Atom: Does it work on Chrome?

Any additional question: feel free to reach out to [email protected]! And some nice features are coming very soon, stay tuned!

Hey Sketchfab guy… the tutorial page for the Blender exporter is down. Just fyi.

Did you mean 19.0.1 ? Current FF is 19.0.2

Also, you’ll note (FAQ):

Which browsers are compatible? Sketchfab is based on [WebGL](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebGL), which is available on Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari. To enable it on Safari: 1/ go to Preferences > Advanced > Show Developer menu in menu bar 2/ Go to header Develop > Enable WebGL. You can [check here](http://get.webgl.org/) if your browser is compatible. You can also [install chrome frame](https://developers.google.com/chrome/chrome-frame/) on non modern browsers.

This is ubercool! :stuck_out_tongue:

Works great in my Ubuntu Chromium btw.

With a tip-o-the-hat to Mr. Crouch:

Just a test

That’s a nice Donkey Kong cabinet. Took me a second to recognize it because I don’t think I’ve ever seen one without a thick coat of pizza grease and bubblegum stuck to it.

This is new plugin is very cool !!!

Bart, THANK YOU so much for the wonderful Addon which makes uploading a .blend file amazingly simple, smooth and effortless directly from Blender (2.66) to https://sketchfab.com once we’ve gotten our sketchfab account and personal API key subsequently assigned. It’s also most appreciated that I don’t have to re-enter the API key more than once into the (Blender) properties panel.

This is one test using the Blender Render instead of the Cycles Render, but didn’t seem to make any difference in how this puzzling display of unintended two-toned material. There’s only one material, yet it looks like there’s two colors.

BTW, is it possible to add start=“1” spin="" controls=“1” in the sketchfab code?

Below is the final render with a subsurf:

Is this feature removed? Because i don’t see the button an anwhere.

Use the sketchfab tag
