want to get into animation and these look like the models the start at, looked at ludwig but a little to complex, have a few questions…

about the finger bones…were are they? i looked on all the layers and only found a red ball but no bones…

In the bone panel, there is also Layers. Thats Bone-layers. Its the reason that you also only can see the animate able bones to start with. Here is a screenshot. :smiley:

Ludwig, ManCandy, AJ, The Bunny, The mouse … all links in my “Best of Blender” thread :slight_smile:

There’s also a finished “Ryan rig” on the last page of the Intro to Character Animation tutorial (link in my signature).

You can hide all of the bones that you’re not using, to reduce the clutter.

The more “complex” rigs are actually easier to animate with, as they will tend to keep the body parts moving more correctly than a “simpler” rig.

Thanks for the comment and thanks for working on these rigs! I decided to use Maya for AM because they support it there (if anything goes wrong, it will be easier to get help) but I plan on going back to blender when I can.
