Very nice work, Alinb! The sense of scale is very good in this image. I personally prefer the look of the first render, I like the contrast. Then again, that is just my taste, and there could be discrepancies in what we see due to display settings and sizes.
If you do make more changes to the tile, or in future work, you could also try adding height differences, so that some tiles are slightly higher or lower than others. This would go hand in hand with making them slightly uneven in the grout, as well. I do like the randomness. You may even be able to adjust their rotations slightly, so that one corner may be higher than others. But I realize this may be overkill, or better left for other projects.
