what is the best way of creating this?
the dividers between pictures are not necessary.
make a thin sheet with just one hole each end and duplicate it?

PS I tried to delete the image for a smaller one but the forum did not agree to it!
the story so far… now how do I add them to the Bezier curve and NOT have the joins showing?

why not just create a texture with all those holes and everything, make a good material, and assign it to a subdivided plane?..
for the curve you can use modifiers, there are more than one that can do the trick…The curve modifier is quite good, and with shape keys you can move the film on the curve.

Add a curve, then make one segment of the film strip, apply an array modifier and curve modifier - Done.

it is a yellow background so I can delete it in photoshop
