using imported svg's as a boundary/ selection to aid in sculpting facial details

Hi all.
I am working on creating a a characters face. I was wondering if it is possible to use a 2d imported svg as a ‘mask’ or ‘selection’ so that i can use the sculpting tools within the boundaries of the selection to create the facial detail on my model. so basically if i could select an area on a sphere for example, in the shape of a 2d nose and then apply sculpting transformations within that boundary it seems like it would be a really simple way to create facial details. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

To limit sculpting to a specific area of a model either use the mask brush or hide (H) the vertices you don’t want to sculpt on
