Materials Help

I’m making a Logo for for my girlfriend’s business[recreating what she already has so i can make themed Buttons] , first time I’ve had a computer to do graphics designs in almost 2 years, and my Work in Gimp wasn’t thrilling me, So I thought I’d Do so in Blender.

This is the current Header, The Logo in Question is the Chained Pink Diamond.

[and yes, I am aware of the business, I have no intentions of showing any of her Content.]
[This one is from Halloween and her Previous Designer is too swamped to make any designs.]

I have the Diamond Molded, and I and trying to Material is Following This Tutorial Video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sk6RFcORd0 @the 5:13 Mark

I’ve Downloaded the HDR pack linked, but I’m lost on how to apply it.
*NOTE: the tutorial is in an older version than what I have, i believe, but i may be mistaken.

Once I get help doing this, I can try to figure the next part on my own.
But i will leave this thread up in case I have additional problems on this project.

Thank you for your time, anyone that does help

The tutorial will work perfectly well with the current version of blender

You can see how the environment texture is used at 5:27. Set the compositor to show the World material (world icon) and add the texture with Add / Texture / Environment Texture node. Then select the texture from this node

Note the Tutorials forum is for completed tutorials ONLY. That’s why there are all the other support forums in place to ask specific support questions !!
