Do coherent explanations of luxrender skin exist?

I am only short two classes for an associates degree in mathematics (I need DiffyQ and linear algebra), and I’m having a lot of trouble with all the math involved in the explanations that exist. (Even having taken optics in calculus based physics).

The only real detailed description I can find is: http://www.luxrender.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5323, but it is fairly disjointed and certain files/references have since disappeared. (I could try to wait until I have some time off next week and make a whole day of it…)

Thus, I was wondering if anyone has a fairly articulate explanation of how to do human skin for luxrender, or even an example of some sort, posted anywhere. If there is such a thing, a few days of searching haven’t revealed it.

Thanks!
