CUDA option available, but no GPU usage when Blender Rendering

Hi all,

I have a Nvidia GTX 770, with Cuda level 2.0. The option of rendering with CUDA is available in the User Prefs, however, I noticed it is still rendering with my CPU. Whether I have the CUDA option checked or the CPU option, the render time is identical, and only my CPU usage goes up, the GPU stays at zero.

In my system I have 32 gigs of RAM, and my GPU has 2 gigs.

Am I missing something here?

The user preferences are there to select which devices you want to use when gpu rendering, not to actually turn it on/off for your current scene

Did you set to use the GPU in the Render settings

I don’t see that option when I use Blender Render. I do see it when I use Cycles but I don’t know how to use that and produces a grayscale image… Is that my only option for GPU rendering?

The Blender Render does not use GPU rendering, only cycles
