Rocket Flame Help

I’ve been trying to make a realistic rocket flame with no success.
I can’t get cycles to create a high velocity flame that is dense, conic, and flickers at the end.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well, Cycles doesn’t make flames, so that could be problematic. :wink: I’m guessing you meant the smoke sim though. You didn’t mention what you’ve tried so far, so it’s hard to give specific help. Generally though, you’d increase the initial velocity from the normals on the emitter so the flame is shooting out, then use the reaction speed (domain > smoke flames) to control the size. It will probably take some trial and error to get values for normal velocity and burn speed that you’re happy with. Domain > smoke flames > smoke is the control for how much smoke you get after the burn.
