Hi
I want to learn blender and hence I’ve short-listed the rig to learn all features of blender, over a course of 2-3 years. Please comment on the rig’s viability (I would also like to stretch this for animations)
i5 4590
16 GB DDR3 1600MHZ
2 GB 750Ti or equivalent
Gigabyte H81-M Gaming 3 Micro ATX
500 W PSU
Thanks

Maybe this post is not longer interesting for you - but who knows?
Overall, your machine is fine for learning blender! (also blender has not very high requirements)
To offer some more detail:
Your Intel i5 is a good quad core CPU, it will be able to handle blender fluently
16GB ram is by far enough, even for large projects you have enough ram
A Nvidia 750Ti is capable of rendering relatively fast and do not cost thousands of dollars, for a beginner it is a good choice
I am not familiar with the motherboard, but usually this involves no problems at all
Your power supply does not matter for blender - it must be simply have enough power to support all parts of your PC
