@Frizan For me, it’s hard to imagine the true size of the tree. I thinks its because of the angle of the camera. I would try a different angle next time.

@3dnotguru Great composition and idea. Well done!

@shajuke I voted for your work because the colors are amazing! I also like the idea and the final result.

@RobertT As usuall, your work is a mystery. How did you do that? I will thankful you upload a screenshot of blender before rendering

Thanks!

Thank you for the suggestion. Let me show you what a down angle would look like:

Sure, there is a better sense of scale, but the point of the image was to make the (not very christmassy) miniature fiberglass tree look like something a little more exciting. I think the normal angle just doesn’t get that message across.

@DoriNori Not bad for a first try! Judging by scale only, you are the clear winner here. The only thing I don’t like is that I can’t figure out which element or isotope it is.

I’m voting for Shajuke. You won me over in post processing.

eyalmu, here’s a screenshot:

@FriZan, how did you do the optical fiber ?
very nice work !

Thanks eyalmu and FriZan, great job on the christmas tree too.

FriZan. I have a similar tree on my desk. I was tempted to take a picture of it with a paperclip for comparison.

Thanks, guys!

@Megeon: Each fiber consists of 2 curve segments, one of them emits, the other has a glossy shader. You can check out the .blend file here -> http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/82404

Wow. If I were you, I would make tutorials of these things. or maybe timelapses. I will be your number 1 viewer.
Your works always looks different and it’s unclear how you made it.

@FriZan I agree with you now when I see the down angle. Btw the image in blendswap gave me the right scale

@Frizan : Thanks a lot

Christmas Tree

I’m surprised needle didn’t get a single vote. My vote was a toss between that and tiny tree. Also surprised I got a vote 0_0 my entry was a bit of a rush job… that shabby tray…

Wow, you kinda liked it? That’s a big success to me  It’s my third entry I think and I was more satisfied with the previous two, but I’m really happy you like it.
