How to make Binoculars vision?

For a animation scene, I need to make a binoculars view, I don’t know the camera settings or basically how to make it.

Moved from “General Forums > Blender and CG Discussions” to “Support > Lighting and Rendering”

Normally it’s done in composition. A simple mask, some lens distortion and color tunnig, and you’re on the way!
Doing it in the render part, is a waste of time… unless you are creating a very specific scene were the binoculars interact with the scece, but even so, I recomend breaking it up and doing it in composition.

Although if the scene is heavy on processing then you may want to place an object as a mask in front of the camera. This would save allocating rays to those portions of the frame.
