Fantasy Musculature Help?

Not sure where to put non-technical questions; so going in general.

I am looking into making this old sketch: http://i.imgur.com/udhWZat.jpginto a model. I -have- modeled before so I don’t really need help with basics; I’m just derping on how the wings should attach I’m imaging like humanoid angel, second raised set of shoulder blades above the normal ones to support them; but I’m having a hard time seeing it. [Face will also be changed in the model; but I don’t have any questions about that.]

Any resources on how to define fantasy musculature? Or a redo of my original sketch by someone who knows a bit better? I just kinda winged it when I was doing cerberus previously and it turned out well enough; but it took a -really- long time to get the necks right.

Here’s my sketchfab for an idea of previous work: Luke on Sketchfab - Sketchfab

The 2 humps in the middle aren’t part of the wing right?

You could go the bird wing route for skeletal structure.

You can check the anatomy of a dragon to get an idea on how the wings would attach to the skeleton.

Are you going with feather wings or skin wings?

The wing itself was to be bat wing. IE This: http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/vertebrates/flight/batwing.gif Including the skin flap running the length of the torso and onto the tail.

It’s how the wings attach the skeleton that’s tripping me up.

You can make a search on google image

about " dragon skeleton " and have hundred of fantasy drawing/sculpting etc… pictures as a results to see many concepts on how the skin/bat wings attach to those fantasy skeletons of dragons and get the idea you think works best for you to adapt it for your creature.

Wings are arms and hands, by rights they need to have the same chest and back muscles that arms need to function.

Hey, references are by far a priority when sculpting
Unless you’re wicked and do this stuff in passing.

Here’s a program I use every time references of any sort are needed
