Eyes slipping out of sockets when rotating head bone

Hello!

I did a search but couldn’t find anything that seemed to fit my exact problem. So I’ve got two wonderful eyes on my character, and I’ve set them to ‘keep offset’ with the head bone.

However whenever I rotate the head bone, the eyes slowly slip out of their sockets, making my dude look deranged. They move perfectly when any other bone is moved (i.e. neck/spine) Things I have tried (amongst much frustrating trial and error):

  • Assigning eyes to head bone
  • Separating eyes into own object and parenting to bone
  • Deleting eye bones and replacing them

Same results no matter what. Here’s some pictures to give a better idea:

Thanks a lot for any help you can give!

Shaun

Check the vertex weighting is correct for ALL bones.

You have decided not to supply a blend file with your post so no-one else can help you with doing this.

When I look at the ears and the distance between the eye sockets and eye brows, it looks like the head is deforming, not the eyes.

you need another bone for the head ( looks like to me). Maybe there is a little weight on the neck bone.
