Material vs. Model sizing

I took a picture of a material I want to use. When I do my unwrap, the size of the material is way too big. In other words, the image that blender imports is zoomed in quite a bit and material is just a bunch of pixelated dots. Do I have to make some changes to image? Are there some settings in Blender I need to change? Any ideas would be appreciated.
