Particle system - remaining inside mesh

Dear Forum,

I am trying to make a nice glowing material and thought about using the new point density feature in B2.76.

I have modelled a heavily modified torus mesh and want the particle system to be inside that mesh. Basicly, have the particles EMERGE inside the mesh - and bounce back’n’forth inside the mesh.

This is probably simple, but I haven’t figured out how.
Help would be much appreciated!

How do I get the particle system to emit particles inside the mesh (-> change the origin)

I guess afterwards it is about setting up collision boundaries, but again - this is totally new to me…

Try flipping the face normals so they point into the mesh and not out of the mesh (W/Flip Normals)

I find it difficult to obtain the effect I want still… So I am open for new opproaches.

Basicly I wanna achieve something like the light coming out of this pumpkin - but animateable!
