Paint selecting vertices

Hi, I’m a new trying to follow this tutorial and I’ve posted a link to exactly where I’m stuck below.
I don’t know how he’s selecting a path through the vertices in this way. I can shift select but not paint select like this. Can someone tell me how he’s doing this.

Moved from “General Forums > Blender and CG Discussions” to “Support > Basics & Interface”

I haven’t watched the video, by my guess is that you’re interested in doing what’s called “Circle select”. Try using the C hotkey.
