Are there any templates, resources for past projects?
There are a bunch of tutorials and some examples of the VSE at my youtube channel. See my sig below. Templates aren’t an easy thing in Blender as there aren’t many processes that are simple button pushes.
I used it to create a video montage of a road trip I took with my dad. Combined it with microsoft hyperlapse. But there were no shortcuts really, I timed the music by ear with markers and imported each clip one at a time. Using proxy video was key to make sure my video was timed correctly. Also, since some footage was captured in 720p, and then cropped further for the hyperlapse stabilization, I’m not really pleased with the overall quality of the clips.

Howtoblend, that was pretty cool! The mountain vista at 1:40 was very sharp. Is that one not stabilized?
Right, Some of the clips I didn’t run through hyperlapse or the stabilizer so they actually look good. I also put scratches on the camera lens sometime after Alberta, that made a smudge consistent throughout the later videos. Oh well!
Have you seen the VSE Easy Logging addon? http://easy-logging.net
It can auto cut to music after you define some meta data for your media. Good for cutting vision to music beats.
