OpenEXR Layer Renaming

Is there any way to change the names of layers in a multilayer OpenEXR within blender prior to file save such that they play nicer with Nuke? It’s not a huge deal, but it’d be nice to have files set up by default to Nuke’s expectations.

Not really. You could use the file output node to remap your passes to a new multilayer EXR, but I’m not sure that’s any easier than just shuffle-noding things the way you need them in Nuke.

No. Probably not. I can just make a group node as a template. The layers are all there, and they’re named appropriately. Not a big deal, but it’d be nice.

I’m going to file a feature request though. Doesn’t seem like this should be a terribly difficult feature to implement.

This would be a nice feature for the “Node Wrangler”.
Selection a Render-Layer Node and generate a File Output node with all the channels mapped to Inputs.

Then we can go into that and change names or whatever you want.
