Any way of pinning softbodies?

I like how well cloth pinning works, but is there a way to do the same for softbodies? Any methods out there?
I’m trying to have a subdivided plane hang instead of just falling down.

not sure what version of blender your using, but in 2.74, in the soft body options, there is a setting called soft body goal. if you put the pinning group in the vertex group box(marked with yellow and turn down stiffness in goal settings(marked in blue) then the softbody looks like it is hanging from that vertex group
