a quik ? on camera mode

when in camera mode, how do I zoom my camera in and out. when I use the regular zoom controls it zooms the whole scene. I just want the camera to zoom

Change the camera focal length in the camera settings
or Move the camera closer to the object (select camera in camera view and G Z Z) or enable ‘Lock Camera to View’ in properties panel and in camera view use the mouse scroll wheel

Note the zoom and move camera are different things so use which is the most appropriate
