Open Blend

This is something we used to do here, years ago. One person starts a scene, then others come along and add to it. So as to avoid confusion, the scene will be added to in order of response. so if you are next to reply to this post, with a placeholder, you will be the next person to add to the blend. The next person to leave a placeholder will wait until you have posted your additions, and take it from there. So, I will begin with this ambiguous control box:
controlbox1exp.blend (616 KB)

You will need to find a file-hosting site for it, because inevitably the .blend will become too big to be allowed as an attachment simply because of the nature of this type of game.

maybe people can just try to keep it low poly until it becomes an issue.

Shoot, I’ll play. Consider this my placeholder, I’ll upload something later today.

Well, you can’t have a control box without something to control, so I strapped it to a motor!

This could be fun. Sorta like /r/passtheblend. However I don’t expect this site to be as liberal in what people could get away with compared to Reddit. (Definitely a free-for-all.) That’s probably a good thing though, considering the direction some collabs went.

I should have made the control box a little more low poly. I wasn’t really thinking. If someone wants to substitute a lower poly version, is cool.

I don’t think it’s that big of a problem, after all it’s always possible to work on a different layer , or move/hide a piece of the model to avoid the viewport impact if/when the blend will start to get heavy, as for now there’s a lot of margin i think regarding the total polycount.
