Started this as a little side project as a break from my LAV-25, but then I liked how it was going so after some more work, here we are: (still WIP)
With every car you make you outdo yourself!! great start to an epic project.
I’ll be watchin this…
Thanks guys!
An update to lighting and materials, with new tires and new bumpers:
Also, this upholstery brought to you by the 1970s:
Here’s a closer view of the new tires:
Also some new discs I just finished, there’ll be new calipers later on as well.
Humster3D is running another car render competition, so I’ll be entering this car into it, so expect lots of WIP photos of me making an environment for this thing once its done. The sidewalls aren’t mine, because I still can’t figure out how to make them properly, but when I do I’ll make my own.
Ah I love those rotor materials! The whole car is really well done too :).
I wish you luck with the new Humster competition! Lets represent blender the way it is meant to be represented!
Wow! This looks really good! Just add more details.
And I’m loving these “ordinary” car models. They are something else.
One of my most favourite vehicles.
A beauty to handle and a beauty to stare at. Well done
Can’t wait to see the interior! (if that’s something you do in these projects)
Agreed, they stand out from the “ordinary” cars one comes across.
Thanks a lot! Your entry last year was awesome, so I’ve got a lot to live up to…
Ok that’s it…take my money!!!
Great work @sdighe as always, good luck on the Humster3D competition.
Thanks man!

Thanks! I’ll definitely be adding all the details I can. Lots of work to do on the interior…

Agreed, its an amazing car. I’ll definitely be doing the interior, I gotta do this thing justice!
Here’s the finished caliper:
Turned out to be quite a complicated shape, so an unfortunate amount of verts went into those things…
And a shot of the back because I realized there weren’t any on the thread yet:
beautiful car. I also like that you chose a pretty regular car. Like showing the beauty in the more ordinary or something.
Thanks! There’s nothing like taking a normal old car and putting BBS rims on it
Experimenting with angles for the render I send in to Humster3D…
Awesome work! Owned 3 of them
Yeah! Awesome! : )
Whoah neat, how’d you get that? Just lotsa sculpting tool or something with modifiers?.. or secret? :b
Looks great so far though
Good stuff~
Thanks! I haven’t done much sculpting in Blender, so I’m quite bad at it really…
I made that leather cover by shaping a cube in the rough shape of the cover, subdividing a whole bunch and then moving vertices around with proportional editing on until it looked right.
Awesome work! Owned 3 of them
Nice! Do you still have one? I’d like to get one someday…
That leather shifter cover looks amazing done by vertex pushing rather than sculpting, great job!!!
My plan is to build a kit someday Mark I quattro with 0km - that would be cool
Hah, just as good a guess.
Probably would have done the same. It honestly doesn’t look bad at all!
