This a scene from an animation I’m working on - a lakeside just before morning light starts to show.

I can hardly see anything, but those mist clouds look a bit odd. The water looks very simple too.

Yes I realised after posting the image looks dark especially when not viewed full screen - I’ll update with a lighter shot later in the animation when I get a chance.
Can you explain what you mean by the water looking very simple?
I was trying to get mist without using volumes as they slow the render times down a lot and also look noisy unless there’s a lot of samples used (which slows down the render times further).
Does anyone know if there is a way to control the height of mist pass in cycles?
