OpenCL Issue linux mint 17.1-17.2

I have been having issues getting the amd opencl feature to work. I had it working on my old install but I needed a clean install so I reinstalled tried if with all the major drivers, including the one from the amd site. And I don’t see the option for opencl in the preferences.

Hi, it would be nice if you add your system specs too.
Blender and driver version, GPU and so forth.
You can test OpenCL with Luxmark: http://www.luxrender.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=11585
The benchmark from Luxrender.
Create system-info.txt from blender Help menu and paste it to http://www.pasteall.org/
Copy link here.

I’ll Post them tomorrow I’m exhausted to think.

Though I think it was the driver that hard had overclocking in catalist (the driver that worked).

HP g6 2011-2012. 4g ram ddr3. Amd a4 with radeon HD 6480G. fglrx-updates version 2:15.200-0ubuntu0.5. wirerless 2.4g BCM4313 802.11b/g/n. I don’t rember the the cpu modle exactly, but there only two with HD 6480G. I’ll go cheek.

here the system info

Ah OK, your card is to old and disabled in 2.75a.
Try to start a terminal and type “CYCLES_OPENCL_SPLIT_KERNEL_TEST=1” (this enable all OpenCL devices).
Start Blender from this terminal.

I know it technically not supported but I didn’t have to do that before it just worked.

And do you know what AMD driver has overclocking inbuilt?

I could figure this out but I don’t have the time.

Is there a way to write a spript to do that, by the way I don’t have blender install just unziped.

just did an actull install of 2.75a it still dosen’t work. Is there any packeges that are needed for opencl to run that might not have been included in the driver? would the opensorce driver work better?

I do not remember the packages had mentioned here an Ubuntu user. You try with “fglrx-dev” “ocl-icd-libopencl1” and just in case “ocl-icd-dev”

the driver that worked had overdrive or just overclock in catilyst controll cententer not in the termanal.<br>

Please post links to them. I’m run 64 bit by the way.

I installed the opencl packeges. the fglrx dev didn’t had to remove it. now it will show open gl as an option but the kernals won’t compial in blenderr.
