some Animations

Hi Blender Community!

I made some Animations and i want to share them.

The medieval Portal:

Youtube converted this video very poorly so here you can download the Original file: http://www.mediafire.com/download/sau7v369lwpl3op/Divinity_Animation_The_medieval_Portal.mp4 ~21MB
BTW, does someone knew why this was converted so bad on Youtube?

Blender Pixel Art:

That’s it for now, more to come in the Future.

It depends on what was the extension of the original file. Youtube suggests that you have the video in h.264 codec so there won’t be a loss of quality. If your file was under a different format, that could be the reason why.

Now for the animation itself. I was expecting a camera change so it can be seen at different angles. The model looks impressive, however, I like to ask the question. If the portal was activated, what was suppose to travel through it? Based on the size, it’s monumental. If any large creatures are to be summoned, that’s going to be a tight fit.

The video is in h.264 encoded, so the problem is not the codec. All other videos i’ve uploaded with the same codec have good quality.
The medieval Portal could benefit from different camera angles, especially to show how big it is.
I first wanted to summon a Model like the “DemonBully” or a Dragon but i did not knew how to hide the Model partially so it seems to appear through the Portal. I guess some masking is required.

If you want to keep something hidden, you may have to do some compositing. In fact, take a look at Nion’s Channel on Youtube. It has the answer you seek.
