Acceleration and deceleration on motion paths

In a scene I am working on, I use a Follow Path constraint to guide an object along the length of a motion path. However, at the end of the animation, I would like the animated object to slow down and eventually stop. At the moment the object travels at a constant speed throughout the animation.

Is there a way to control acceleration or deceleration for an object traveling along a motion path?

Look at the graph editor and you can change the interpolation type with shortcut T http://www.blender.org/manual/animation/editors/graph/fcurves.html?highlight=interpolation

Actually keyframe the follow path constraint offset instead of just using the ‘Animate Path’ option so you get more control of the path speed
