The Traditional Designer - historical reconstitution project using Blender

THE TRADITIONAL DESIGNER
Interacting with History and Decorative Arts

The Traditional Designer is a recovery project, from documents and historical images, of elements of the Western design and decorative arts from the High Middle Ages (11th. Century) up to the Edwardian Era (1910).

Using the latest Computer Graphics resources, the project is intended to be an additional reference to designers and historians of Architecture, Decoration, Fashion and costumes, and also to disseminate the aesthetical values of the traditional design to the general public.

The recovered element (building, decorative art piece, costume) will be displayed at the galleries of the website of the project, along with a description of the element and historical context.

Additionally, the 3D objects of the scene will be sold on 3D model-trading websites (TurboSquid, CG Trader). Smaller objects could also be 3D-printed on the Shapeways website, in any material available (shipping via Shapeways).

Please support the project and/or tell your friends about it. Thank you!
