Strange shadows?

All normals facing out
topogogy is mostly quads, too simple to cause it

Your first image doesn’t show that

Looks like duplicated points, try removing doubles first and see if it clears up.

Just supply the blend file !

You have autosmooth turned on. Turn it off and you can see the difference. Go to object data under normals and uncheck it.

Okay, try “clearing split edge normals”

You should always do that when importing an OBJ file

I have a feeling this is too much of a broadbrush statement. If the imported OBJ files are CAD models, clearing split edge normals is the one thing you should NOT do in order to preserve correct shading.
