Everyone’s done awesome I can’t wait to see who the winner is-and what the next challenge will be!
I think that the “Live! Breaking News!” treatment is both a very original idea, and very well-executed. Those graphics look like real TV-newscast graphics, right down to the “shiny edge.”
I love Photox’s. the only thing that throws me off is that the horn seems off-center due to the stripe going past it. I know its just an optical thing though, its still far better than anything I can do
Robert T, thanks. The tight shot is no accident. If you don’t see it, it isn’t modeled.
Lambrijr. Thanks man, One unicorn with centered stripe, cooled off.
Many great entries.
@Photox, I like this blue eyed image much better.
@Yafu, I loved the concept, reminded me of the “Never ending story”.
@RobertT. Thank you for your comments on the Kraken.
Great entries everyone! @RobertT: That dragon is gorgeous!! I love the use of colour, distortion, transparency, lighting, the geometric shape, and well, everything really.
RobertT, I was wondering how you made the blue edge highlights? I’ve seen them before in games and animations and I don’t know how people do them. What are they called/how do you make them?
Mswan: Great idea and render! You got my vote.
Imaginer: Thank you very much. It was exciting to visualize and develop.
KeonSkyfire: They are “toon outlines” in Blender and more generally known as “toon edges.” The setting for this is in the Render panel in Blender. I used the basic one, and you can change its color. More advanced toon-related effects in Blender exist in the Freestyle settings (which I have yet to really try).
Photox: Beautiful alternate render.
mik1190: Great idea, and funny!
YAFU: Wonderful concept and nicely illustrated
Thalia Brunner: That expression made me smile. Good work!
Helge: I love the imagination and colors in that image.
Ryeath: Great results in such short time!
Daniel Hudd: Nice job creating an entire scene like that and generating the glow and surrounding illumination.
LiquidHelix: It’s a cute little ghost you’ve created there, even mischievous perhaps =)
(My comments to the other artists appear in the submission entry thread.)

Giant Remains
Congratulations Mswan! Giant Remains - Great Entry
If you ask me, this wasn’t an easy theme. But we ended up with a lot of unique images. Fantastic job everyone!
@RobertT:
Thanks, glad you like this one. Wonderful dragon btw
@Thalia Brunner:
My vote went to this one. Mostly because of the facial expression and the way the ‘horn’ is glued to the head. A very funny image which really should have gotten more votes!
@Photox:
Very nice! You seem to establish a tradition of delivering great follow up images
Congratulations Mswan!
opulenthawk, RobertT: Thanks!. The concept is not original at all, but I have fun doing it. For some weeks ago I participated in the challenge and I’m learning a lot. In fact, the body of the horse and dragon were my first serious sculptures, and I learned the limitations of working with multires sculpt. The next time I will try dyntopo.
Play against the clock is a good incentive regarding laziness you get when not participating in this kind of challenge.
It is also very fun to discover all the different concepts of participants in each challenge.
Thank you very much everyone! Great job to all the other entries as well, there were a lot of really interesting pieces! Good luck in the next round!
